Not a good trade. Uggla is not proven like Figgins is. Try for Utley if you need 2B.

Yes, you should make this deal. Although most people would never trade a no-name player at the beginning of the season (like Uggla) for an experienced veteran (like Figgins) who is a very good player and can play many positions on your team, I think in this instance you should. It isn't always about the name. Next year, Uggla will be a top-tier 2B, because people will have heard of him.

Here is why you should trade Figgins for Uggla: You say that a lot of stats count, even the categories not normally counted like singles, doubles, triples, assists, etc. I'm not sure of your exact categories, but in EVERY category except for BBs and SBs, Uggla wins. Especially when you get to the averages, if you have them as your categories. Uggla crushes Figgins in AVG (by 60 points), OBP (by 40 points), SLG (by 90 points), and OPS (by 240 POINTS!).

As you said, you have plenty of speed, with Reyes, Patterson, Freel, Abreu, Crisp. Figgins' loss of speed will hurt a bit, but it will be more than made up by Uggla's production in every other category except those SBs and BBs.

And oh yeah, one more category that seals this deal for which you should take Uggla. You say Assists count as a category. Uggla plays 2B, which gets many, many assists because many balls are played in the infield. Figgins, on the other hand, plays more than half his games in the OF, with less than half in the infield. In the outfield, you have far fewer assists; because you only get them when you throw someone out at a base (ex. getting thrown out at home). So, on the season, Figgins has 55, and Uggla nearly 4x that amount, at 200 assits. Take the deal!

You need power & RBIs I suppose with that lineup. Dish some speed now. Figgins for Uggla is a lopsided trade. You're not accomplishing much by doing that deal. Target a power hitter & start making some offers.

Bear in mind that Figgins was a 2nd-3rd round pick. Try to get a power hitter that's comparable.

Bad trade. I would go for more. C. Figgins is the best non-power player there is. He's rated top 20 and Uggla barely makes top 90. Go for atleast M. Holliday(Col-OF) but
I'd try to go for a big name first. Maybe P. Konerko(CWS-1B).

Uggla is moving hot in a lot of leagues right now. Remember the season is a marathon, go with the past stats for long range probabilities.

bad deal.......you can get more for figgins. but since every category counts, why do you even want to trade him? he's a monster for runs, triples, singles and probably assists. sounds like you have a "small ball" type of team. keep figgins and dominate everywhere else.......punt hr/rbi.

Without seeing your entire lineup it does seem you need two more rbi/homer guys.
Maybe give up your #2 or 3 SP for a bat.
