I was rearranging the contents in my kitchen cabinets and I found this beautiful purple ceramic mug, with Dallas, Texas imprinted on it. It was placed in the far rear of one of my cabinets. This is the second time, that I know of, that there has been no gift for me.

I just want to clarify that the son is from my husband's first marriage and the wife is our daughter-in-law. Yes, I did speak with him about hiding the mug and he says he did hide it a year ago. I feel he should have just said "Hey, look at what I got" and let it go at that.

No, Don't get offended. Sometimes a son always see the person that is with their father as someone who is trying 2 replace their mom. But, at the same time, he does what to show his dad that he loves him. That said, does not mean he don't like u. He just loves his father more, & the wife is gonna go with whatever works for her husband.

I suggest not being offended. You dont want your husband hiding these things from you. (and I assume you actually mean EX-wife)

That way when his SON gives him something you should say how sweet it is. by getting your feelings hurt you make it seem that you are a selfish person. By letting your husband realize you recognize how important his son is to him he will be more open about these things

On a side note if this isnt his EX-wife, then you should exit the relationship immediatly, for all of the obvious reasons.

I think that you mean your husband's son and the son's wife...hopefully. No it shouldn't offend you. I mean I give my parent a gift sometimes and not the other one. It also is a mug. Maybe he forget to tell you or doesn't really like it since he put it away. There could be other reasons.

He's trying to keep the mug from being violated. Take the mug out and drool heavily and slobber all around the rim. Once it is broken in like that there will be no reason to hide it.

This is called "losing a mug's virginity'.

There's every reason to be offended if they are gifting him for Christmas or other inclusive holiday and not you. That is rude, at best. I suspect the reason the gift is hidden is to keep you from being hurt - that sounds like what a guy would do. On the other hand, if he is being gifted on his birthday, but not you on yours, and the son is not your son, that is passable - you are not his mother and so I wouldn't take offense at that.

You should address that with your husband and tell him that it hurts your feelings.
Next you can tell the kids that you do not appreciate be excluded from this gift thing and that if they cant give you a gift for the both of you then don't give a gift at all.

Well you can't be too offended by a gift that a kid gives his dad, but the dad shouldn't be hiding it from you. I guess he's doing that because he knows that you'll either get mad, or feel bad.

WELL HOW DID YOU REACT THE FIRST TIME? MAYBE HE WAS JUST TRYING TO SPARE YOUR FEELINGS? MAYBE HE WASNT SURE WHAT TO SAY? AFTER ALL HE HAS NO CONTROL OVER WHAT IS PURCHASED FOR HIM. I WOULD SAY...FORGET ABOUT IT....NOW IF HE WERE THE ONE BUYING THE GIFTS.....WELL YA KNOW....
