I think about all my goals that I want to achieve in life. I think about my children. I think about all of my family. I pray and cry to the Lord. I think about my education. I try to read a good book or do some homework. I call all of my family to let them know that I am thinking of them and that I love them with all of my heart. I try to make a to-do list for the up coming week. I decide what we will have for dinner the next couple of days. There are alot of things to do when you are bored.

I have never been bored, unless I was sitting and listening to an uninteresting speech of some sort. When it comes to just finding ways to spend my time, there are hundreds of things I can do to apply myself to my own needs. I can read for entertainment or edification; I can spend some quality time with a child in my family or that of a friend; I can write the life story of one of my ancestors to leave as a legacy for the "youngsters;" I can clean clothes, dishes, cabinets, floors, or in my bedroom; I can have a long chat with a good friend, and lift her spirits (thanks to unlimited long-distance); I can spend some time visiting with my mother, or chat with my father long distance, and ask them about their life, more importantly, I can tell them I love and appreciate them (you can never do this too often); I can volunteer to tutor at a neighborhood center or literacy league; I can indulge my creative self, and do something artistic; I can experiment in the kitchen, and make some fantastic dish for the first time; etc., etc., etc.
When I run out of those--if ever--I can then solicit friends or family to help them. There's ALWAYS something useful and worthwhile to do. The sooner you learn that and apply yourself to it, the sooner your life will begin to have real depth and meaning, both to yourself and to others.

I contemplate that this is my "Universe" that I create, and then I go and do something about it. I usually try to find an interesting person at a coffee shop or the bar to talk to, read a book, call old friends, paint, make something nice for someone, go thrift store shopp'n, whatever.
