It certainly is going to far. This is a socially damaging cartoon. I don't watch the episodes that mock religion.

No, I don't think. Its a really funny show and I don't think people should take it really seriously like the episode about scientiology and how that is why chef quit they make fun of everything but they are not allowed to make fun of scientiology. I thought that the guy who played chef should grow up. I mean Jesus has his own talk show on South Park nobody says anything about that. Sorry my answer is so long. Just explaining myself. But I think it is a really good show.

That episode was just a slam against Isaac Hayes, who for 10 years never had a problem insulting any religious, ethnic or socio-political group until it came to Scientology. After the episode that made fun of Tom Cruise and ridiculed Scientology, which happened to be HIS religion. Hayes decided to break his contract and not provide any more voiceovers. They got back at him by using chopped up pieces of voice recordings from previous episodes to make him look bad. By making Chef look like a pedophile freak, they were slapping Hayes in the face.

TV shows; comediens; books; concerts. There are a number of venues where people push the edge of an envelope with points of view. The bottom line is we have the right to NOT watch/read/communicate with these venues. Comdey is just that - a joke. People should lighten up.
I just watched a video with Sarah Silverman wherein Aids and the Holocaust were figured prominently. NOT funny topics granted, but I went in with the mindset that I was going to watch comedy.

No, that episode was to disrespect Chef character (Issah Hayes) in which the actor quit when they showed the Scientilogy episode (after that airing he left the series). I lost all respect of Mr. Hayes in which it is alright for the show to make fun of other religions but when it hits home with Mr. Hayes' own religion then he wants to leave the show.
In actuality, Chef didn't molested any children in that episode. Hope this helps.

Hey wasn't shown molesting a single kid. Actually it wasn't even indicated that HE had. Maybe you should have watched the WHOLE episode and watched it closer. He was BRAINWASHED. If you knew the whole story you would know the refrence to Scientology was what it was all about and was really funny.

Everybody has some personal bounds, and sometimes yes, South Park does go too far.

i observed that episode the night it got here out... SO humorous i for my section watched with a crowd of redneck dorm acquaintances and that they laughed at each and every thing interior the episode. i do no longer comprehend in the event that they knew what they have been making relaxing of even yet it made me experience much less awkward and extra honest approximately while i needed to chortle. i think of one in all my favorites is the family contributors guy episodes.
