Depends on whether you have pain killers, an epidural or are doing 'natural' childbirth.
The process of childbirth involves the spreading of the pelvic bones at the cartiledge in the front to allow room for the baby to pass. This is only part of the pain. The other part is the pressure of the uterus muscles contracting to push the baby through a narrow, but elastic, canal. Imagine pushing something the size of a tennis ball out of the opening on your penis...that should about size the pain up. Unfortunately pain from childbirth involves lower back, lower abdomin and pelvic areas.

It depends on your pain threshold. If you have a high tolerance for pain then it is nots so bad. If its low then it may be painful to bear. In that case I would seriously consider a epidural or something to that. Ask your primary care physician about your options.

If you have an epidural, it doesn't really hurt at all. I was very lucky.
