Whenever I attempt to play a game that is strictly first person I am alright for a few minutes and then I begin to get this sick nauseous feeling. My head begins to hurt and I think I am going to throw up. I have to turn the game off then and lie down for at leasst 15 minutes. This also happens with games like Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank, those are not first person. I am wondering why these symptoms occure so fast and so severly when i attempt to play these games, I am fine with modtly every other game out there but first person shooters make me feel so sick that i cannot play them and there are a bunch that i would love to try and play, like metroid and the much talked about HALO

Halo is great fun, but it's not worth it if you go through all that! The games do have warnings that some people may experience dizziness or even seizures, though I thought that was just if you stared at the screen too long or were already prone to seizures... having those symptoms occur just on FPS games is interesting! Maybe it's a loss of equilibrium you feel when you "become" the character in an FPS, as the experience is quite different from platformers and other games, as you know. I don't know what you can do about it, though! Good luck with it.

If you are playing on the pc, then back up a little from the screen. If you are playing on the PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, or any other game consoles then do not play that long. If your game comes with a manuel, on the first page on the back of the cover, there is a helth section you can read what can happen when you are playing games. I hope that I helped you.

your eyes perceive the information
and your brain process it
you are not used to it
or you don't have a good balance ( some ppl naturally get dizzy easier than other)

when you play those games, the screen changes fast and your brain receive the info and just can't take it.....

i have the same problem :(

If this keeps happening go to a doctor. In the beginning of most game manuals there is a health section. it might tell you there.

Perhaps you should see a doctor to make sure you aren't having siezures or something. You may also be adversely affected by looking at gory stuff.
