The baby's doctor recommended Cetaphil... He has a rash in his face, due to heat per the Doctor...
Any other suggestions...? Or if you have used Cetaphil on babies, what is your feedback...?

Cetaphil is good because its clear and odorless.....i think you should listen to the doctor...i can't say much of anything else because i haven't seen your baby's rash....

My doctor recommends unscented Dove (white package with light green label). It's perfume free, dye free, and contains lotion in it. Both of my boys did very well on it. They were always rashy babies when it came to catching a cold...the cold would go away, then they'd end up with a viral rash. They did wonderfully with this, although I didn't ever soap up the wash cloth before washing their faces...I just used the tub water (which already has soap in it) to wash their faces, and they both have beautiful skin. I wash their hair with it too (still!) and they both have beautiful, blonde hair that's the texture of corn silk. Just be careful that you don't get the soap in your baby's eyes...it's not tear free like all the stuff made specifically for babies.

I use Johnsons hair and body and it is very gentle on her...for a diaper rash, nothing works better than A&D...I know Cetaphil is recommended a lot for face issues...I find that as long as I use plain water and a cotton ball for her face and then keep it dry during the day (ie: no spitup/droll sitting on it), she stays clear and clears up faster if she does have a rash

Cetaphil I found to have a fragrance which irritated the skin. I just went through this with my new gran daughter. Her doctor recommended EUCERIN cream. I also went and bought AQUAPHOR healing ointment and AQUAPHOR gentle soap to wash her with. They are both in the baby section although a little expensive. They contain NO perfumes which many babies are allergic to. Let me know how it works out. Any little blemish my daughter puts AQUAPHOR ointment or cream on her and within the next few hours its gone. EUCERIN makes AQUAPHOR.

I use cetaphil on my face even though I'm not a baby! I like it, it's mild and I feel smooth and clean after use. However I usually like to use Johnson & Johnson products, they are specifically tailored for babies.

My doctor told me not to use any type of soap on my daughter's face. Their faces are the most sensitive part of their skin. Just wash her face with a wet washcloth. I used johnson's baby soap to wash the rest of their bodies

I have no children(I am only 17), but my aunt was in a similar situation and Cetaphil and she said it worked just fine.

Ceraphil is very mild. Never used on a baby, but I was recommended by my dermatologist to use it for a rash I had on my face. It worked

there is some oatmeal soap that i have used on my children. i purchased it at walgreens. use that and dial antibacterial soap. my daughters have very sensitive skin, but this works. doctors do not know everything. you can also use head and sholders on the newborns face and as a body wash.
