I keep hearing a song being chanted during all the World Cup games. It sounds like "Go West" by the Pet Shop Boys. Does anyone know what it is or why it's at every game?

Its one of those tunes that seems to be used by many teams as a melody to base one of their chants around. I've heard it alot during games; France in particular seem to love it. :)

It is the tunes of the Pet Shop Boys song Go West, but there are alot of different words fans made up to cheer their team...like 'Steht auf wenn ihr Schalker seid' (Stand up if you're Schalkers...Schalke is a German soccer team)..yeah, German here lol
The other song mentioned on her by Right Said Fred doesn't have the Go West tunes, just sounds similiar

The adapted it to the tune of Go West by the Pet Shop Boys, but the words go something like: “Stand up for the champions, stand up for the champions, stand up for the champions, we’ll be the number one.”
It is "Stand up for the champions" on the "Go West" tune, but sang by RIGHT SAID FRED.

It is the same tune, but the lyrics have been adapted. It's definitely "Go West" though.
