Its not dust, have you ever seen giant bits of dust floating around? I don't think so.

hi molly. well i am not sure if my answer is relevant, but i read somewhere once that in the house, the tiny little particles that float around are made up of dead skin. i know it sounds gross, but i looked it up on wikipedia (ref. below), and apparently its true. just thought i'd share.

I know what you mean but don't know what they are called.
They are white & look like a central dot with hundereds of little hair growing out of it. About quarter to half an inch around. They seem to float aimlessly.

Not sure where you live but...I live in Enumclaw, WA ( where the famous NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne came from) in a rural area and we get "fluffs" as well and they are from the cottonwood tree. Range in size from 1 c.m. across to about 1 inch across.

The fruits of the dandelion family (Taraxacum) which form a 'clock' i.e. a tiny parachute which enables the plant to be dispersed.

They're off weeds, dead dandelions. You know the ones- when we were little we used to pick them and blow on them! They fly around and when they land they grow more dandelions.

i suppose its just dust particles.my mates and i used to call them the f.b.i. it would be a great way to spy on someone though eh?lol
