Yeah, the slimlines tend to over-heat, which sometimes causes them to crash (never happened to me, though). I found proping it up with little wooden blocks on the four corners help, since I'm too cheap to buy a stand! *lol*
That lets the air circulate around the machine, which makes it cooler.

Its OK. I play my slim one 8 hours every day. Nothing has happened to mine.But I have heard that they sometimes get set on fire.
