Uh, you never get "numb" but the pain subsides as your natural pain killers kick in. When I had mine it hurt for about 10-15 minutes - then my endorphins kicked in and it was way less intense.

It doesn't hurt as much as a bikini wax - that's for sure! I will go back to a tattoo needle before I set foot near hot wax again... lol!

No it never gets numb. Or maybe it all depends. Lets say your getting a sleeve on your arm it will take more than 2hrs, of course. I guess it will numb. Some tattoos takes a day or 2 to finish. So my tattoo is less than half of my ankle and it never went numb.

It all depends on you Sweety I can't say "10 minutes" or "an hour" cause others are different. My first tattoo I was drunk & didn't get numb at all! To the other posters, I don't know of anywhere that does numb your skin I think she meant eventually the skin gets numb from multiple needle sticks?

I've got tattoo's and I never went numb.. I guess it depends on your body and how well you deal with pain.

They numb people now?! I guess I'm old school. I was needled with no pain killers.

well i have 3 tatts and they don't numb the skin or area your getting it, thats part of getting a tattoo, the pain!!!

it depends on the size of the tattoo...and your threshold for pain...it's a diffrent feeling for everyone
