In different periods of history each of the countries mentioned could be considered to be a superpower. One Provence of Greece ( Macadonia ) conquered Persia, ending their claim to be a great power.
Rome conquered Greece, ending Greece's claim to greatness. The Germanic tribes overran Rome finishing the power of Western Rome.
The Arabs conquered Constantinople finishing Eastern Rome. There's no end to it. The great conquerers are in turn conquered.

The "ancient world" term is covering a span of several thousand years, so a number of nations rose to superpower status only to later decline and/or fall. To name only a few (other than those you mentioned: Egyptians, Syrians, Assyrians, Hittites, Macedonians ... but the list goes on and on.

They all were in their own days. You'll have to be more specific as to the timeframe. You can add Egypt and Crete to that list, too. It depends on what years you're looking at.
