At first there are 32 teams. Then, it goes into the second round where there is 16 teams, which then begins the knockout round. After this, the Quarter Finals come, then the Semi-Finals, and finally, the Final game.

There are 32 countries playing the the first round by the league system. These countries are divided in 8 groups of 4 and the winner and the runnerup of the group will advance to the next round: the round of sixteen.
From the round of sixteen till the end of the tournament, the matches will be played in accordance with the knock-out system, so we have then:
First round
32 countries ===> advances 16 countries
Round of 16
16 countries ===> advances 8 countries
Quaterfinals
8 countries ===> advances 4 countries
Semifinals
4 countries ===> advances 4 countries, the lossers will play for the third place, and the winners for the title of World Champions.
