i thought it was a pretty good movie...
but people don't seem to understand these days that it's just a movie...even though films may say they're based on true events or whatever...don't mean the whole movie is a true story...

Did not read the book but thought movie was BIG in terms of production, costumes, locations, etc, I mean imagine the budget!
Also I felt the movie dragged on in some parts & was feeling antsy about Zhang's character in that she couldn't just reveal her true feelings for the "Chairman"? That was frustrating.
Apart from that watching the movie had a real sense of national pride for me because Michelle Yeoh (a fellow country woman:)) representing my country in a Hollywood production so I'm a bit biased, lol.

I loved the book. The move was not too bad either. But read the book if you get the chance! It a lot more in-depth than the movie would ever hope to be.

I loved it, a good romance movie. Although the movie doesn't do any justice to the book.

Beautiful movie but I didn't the fact that they took chinese famous women to play japanese girl who speak english. Maybe too much "Hollywood" to be really good.
