I disassembled the brakes to replace them and the rotors. It appears that one of the slides where the caliber fastens is frozen, same thing both sides . It is the bottomone. Is this supose to be stationary or sould it slide freely. Brakes are worn unevenly. Also why is the top slide brass and the bottom one steel.

the caliper pins on all brake calipers should slide freely. if these pins dont slide you will see uneven wear of your pads. more than likley this is your problem. if the pins don't slide the caliper will not back away from the rotor leaving pressure on the rotor which will eat up the pads and cause the rotors to warp resulting in steering wheel shake when applying the brakes. use a special high heat brake grease to lube these slides. good luck, krtdrof

I think one year they made the slides so that you remove one and then flip the calipur up so you don't damage the fluid lines. Have you been able to unscrew it, just not remove it? Brakes are probably worn unevenly because the last person didn't put a shim in or put it in wrong, hmmm.... If you get your calipur out, be sure to grease the slides with low speed grease to prevent future freezing!

sounds like sticky caliper an or weak spot in hose or the hose is in a twist restricting flow of fluid this will make for uneven wear if you do not want to take to a garage replace both yourself .dont worry about slides when in doubt replace
