Goto OCNTROL PANEL and open DISPLAY.
Click the APPEARENCE tab, then click the ADVANCED button.

In the ITEM listbox select WINDOW, and choose your colour.
Also slect DESKTOP and choose your Colour. this colour will only be seen if you set your desktop wallpaper to none.

Click OK and OK again.Goto MY COMPUTER you will see background colour has changed. It is very irritating because word and other programs change as well now. If you don't like it just go back and change the colour using the instructions above.
