Java loaded, still receive message "loading Java applet failed" please help?

If it's a certain site then it is more likely that there is something wrong with the script at that specific page.

If you are using a popup blocker, hiuh security settings or some kind of Browser security software it might be blocking the script from running from that page based on security settings. if hte page is known to be bad and you have a program like S&D spybot installed htat script is not going to run.

It might also be possible that your browser has been set to disable java script.
For FIrefox you can enable java script by going to TOOLS on teh file menu , select OPTIONS and click on the CONTENT tab/icon depending on the version. Check the ENABLE JAVA SCRIPT and ENABLE JAVA checkboxs and click OK.

For Internet explorer: Click TOOLS on the File menu, and selct INTERNET OPTIONS. Click on the ADVANCED tab. Scroill down the list and make sure there is a check mark next to the item below the heading JAVA(SUN) if it's there. Right at the bottem of the list under VM make sure JIT complier is enabled for virtual machine.

Next in the INternet explorer options click on the SECURITY tab.
For INternet click CUSTOM LEVEL, set JAVA VM Permissions to HIGH SAFTY. Scroll down and set SCRIPTING FOR JAVA APPLETS TO ENABLED or PROMT and click OK.

If the site still doesn't work it will have to be the site. In firefox you can also check the JAVA CONSOLE for inforamtion as to why the error is occuring. TOOLS > JAVASCRIPT CONSOLE. you can do it in IE too but you might have to enable it.

One last setting that may help but it's probably already set right.
Goto ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS in CONTROL PANEL. Set PROGRAM ACCESS AND DEFAULTS (if it not there your operating system is old or needs an update). Select CUSTOM And click on the Downward arrows in the circle just to the right.
Right at the bottem, CHOOSE A DEFAULT VIRTUAL MACHINE FOR JAVA, make sure it is set to USE MY CURRENT VIRTUAL MACHINE FOR JAVA, do not check ENABLE ACCESS TO THIS PROGRAM next to MS Virtual machine, it is not neccasary and it is a security risk. Click OK
