Thanks for all the comments (well... not everyone...lol). I read an article in Time on this thought and wondered what others thought about the possibility of combining parties on one ticket.

It'll never, ever happen.
Neither of them can finance an election by themselves...they need the support of their parties...
McCain is never going to be the Republican nominee (the press wishes he was, which is why you might think he's a frontrunner, but the reality is, he has NO chance), and Lieberman has been abandoned by HIS party, the Democrats, because he correctly supports the war on terror.

Terrific idea. I don't know either parties would tolerate a Republican/Democrat ticket. I wouldn't care if it was Lieberman/McCain or McCain/Lieberman, I like them both. But yes, it would be a good ticket for a polarized US in 2008.

Liberman isn't well liked in the party, but GW says nice things about him.and Mc Cain isn't nutbags enough for the Rightwing extremist. Him running with McCain wouldn't shock anyone in the party.
Polarized US, yeah i guess it is. Perot and Jesse Ventura might vote for them but it is a two party system.
I want votes just to be counted.... instead of the bs that has been allowed to go on.

I would vote for McCain but i think if he had Lieberman it would be too much of a difference and not a lot would get done becuase they are too different.

McCain Liberman would be the best thing that ever happened to Hillary. Like Billy Jeff was elected thanks to Perot the same thing would happen for her.
