Changed out engine, Car will start and run for about 1-3 min. then shut down. won't start again for 2-3 min. then the same thing. Replaced the fuel pump and filter, didn't solve the problem. Changed spark plugs same results. Has anyone had a simular problem? Thank you for any help.

No check engine light, and getting code 14.

is that the same motor that came out of it? If you installed another year or type of motor, the computer will not know this and is running the data for the original motor that was in the car, so everything will be out of wack. Check the ignition timing, and recheck all the connections to make sure everyhting is hooked up right. Ensure the spark plug wires are in the right cylinder and distributor position.

might be a problem with anti-theft system shutting car down - prom may need to be programmed - is check engine light on ?

had a similar problem, but car wouldnt start only turn over, key cylinder has 2 small wires running to it which is for the ani-theft system (key has a chip in it) , wires are small/brittle common for them to break...

TRY THIS TURN IGNITION ON DO NOT START ENGINE WATCH FOR THET DETURENT LIGHT TO FLASH WALK AWAY THIS WILL TAKE A WHILE WHEN IT STOPS FLASHING ENG SHOULD START AND RUN IF THEFT DETERRENT IS THE PROBLEM

Is the exhaust clogged. Are you getting any codes. try hooking up a scan tool.

did you try checking your fuel pressure regulator . on injected cars , you should get about 35 lbs of pressure.
