First of all, you HAVE to gain weight with a pregnancy...there's no way around it. You have the weight of the placenta, baby, amniotic fluid, etc.
I'd just try to stay away from fattening/greasy foods and sweets (except for fruit). Do have some fat though...your baby needs it!
Walking is the best exercise for you. It elevates your heart rate, but isn't bone-jarring like jogging or running. If it's too hot outside, walk on a treadmill.
I gained 80 with my first baby and 40 with the second, and I'm about 15 lb away from my original weight (from my first baby). Honestly, I'm pretty happy...I was too thin then, and now I feel like a real woman (LOL) not trying to sound cheezy there. I have slightly wider hips, my butt isn't nearly as flat and I'm just curvier I guess. :)
Also, your ob/midwife should have a list of safe exercises for you to do.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

I know that it is okay to exercise while pregnant as long as you don't do certain activities (like biking) that could cause you to fall. You will want to find something that is comfortable for you to do, but you can still exercise.
Check out this website - http://www.babycenter.com/pregnancy/pregnancyfitness/index
It has lots of articles and information on fitness during pregnancy. You can also ask your doctor about exercise that is safe for you and if there is a specific type to recommend.
I hope that helps some!

It is healthy to lose the weight, Drink alot of water, try to drink 1 gallon if you can, you wont feel hungry and excrete any anti oxidents in your system. This is a good way to prevent gestiational diabetes. As far as exercise, take you baby out for walks in the stroller as long as you can. I dont recommend overdoing it but keep at it. You will only gain baby weight, should be around 25 lbs. Enjoy parenthood, see your doctor often
add 70% fruits, veg and whole grains, 20% protiens and 10% fats. Watch your carbs,

the only thing you should really do is eat healthy and live healthy. You can gain less weight than you did with your last, but you have to remember, if you starrve yourself of important calories, carbs and proteins, you are doing the same to your growing baby. by all means exercise within the limits of pregnancy, and you might also lose wieght in the beginning jsut from morning sickness.. I know I did! You can exercise regularly as long as you feel fine. You should switch to low impact I believe it's at the 2nd trimester, and jsut make sure and talk to your dr.

Talk to your doctor about it to be sure, but generally it is not safe to lose weight during pregnancy at all.

Keep exercising! you are pregnant, not disabed.
As long as you have a healthy pregnancy, there is no reason why you should stop. You do need to eat enough nutritious foods to keep the baby healthy, but you don't need to consume anything fatty that will make you gain the wrong weight.
Talk to your doc to help find better ways to deal with this.

I used to swim laps in the pool until i got too big to get out without help. you stay cool and don't end up all hot and sweaty. Just don't do any belly flops or anything.
Now, I like to take walks in the evenings.
Just be careful, you can always lose the weight after the other baby is born. That baby comes first.
Good luck.

Obviously this is a question for your Ob-Gyn on your next prenatal visit. I expect them to tell you that the exercise part is OK to continue as long as you don't go skimpy on necessary nutrients. Most likely exercise recommendation from them will be low-impact aerobics etc. You should be able to do weight resistance training for a while as long as you don't over do it.

I would think it is okay to loose some wieght during the first trimester at least. Especially if you are still losing some wieght from the first baby. I would just tone down your excersise routine as far as what they tell you not to do while pregnant (like sit ups) and continue to eat healthy!!!!
