Well my 6 year old says he is Darth Vader and he wears black shoes or sometimes blue trainers. However, I think DV actually wears some kind of metal black boots.

Black boots that are fire retardant. He didn't want hot feet. Wait! He didn't have any feet. But they were black like Santa Clause boots without the fuzzies.

I think he wears black boots, I've just done an image search, but you can hardly ever see his feet, so I'm not quite sure :)

He doesn't wear shoes, he wears boots. Black ones, about knee-high. I'd assume their made of some sort of space-age leather material.
