If I understand this, you're saying your best friend was murdered, and now is brother is very sad? Or did your best friend just murder his brother? It's not clear from the way you posted the question.

Anyway ... this will not get better right away. Someone who loses a family member is going to go through a period of grief. They will be sometimes moody, sometimes angry, sometimes they will try to force themselves to be cheerful and the next minute they will shut themselves in the bedroom.

All you can do is be there as much as you can. Listen to your friend ... if he wants to talk about his brother, then talk about the good things you remember ... if he wants to talk about something else, then talk about something else. Most of all, let him know that he is not alone, and that you will be there to support him, no matter what.

Good luck.

right at this minute, you CANT cheer him up, he is dealing with the murder of his brother. give him time and he might come around .also when he is sad and crying, hold him, let him cry on your shoulder and let him know that your their for him if he wants to talk .good luck. if that dont work, suggest he see a therapist

A guy's brother was murdered and you want to cheer him up???You can't, dear. Buy or make a special candle holder and give it to him in memory of his brother.

Maybe you could tell him that his brother (your friend) would probably want his brother not to dwell on his death, but to be happy and live his life to the fullest. Sometimes an untimely death makes the living realize how short & precious life is, so that maybe we don't waste so much of it, after that.

Good Luck

He saw someone murder his brother or did he murder his brother, you have to clear that up first

There is no way to "cheer him up." He needs time to deal with his grief and his anger. Just be a friend to him, and listen if he wants to talk.

Be there for them. Don't pressue them and simply be open to everything they have to say. Allow them to feel loved cause they are.
