Why does everyome love Nelson Mandela?

The guy is clearly not the saint he is made out to be.. Yes Apartheid was wrong, no question about that. But it's also wrong to be supporting the genocidal maniac Robrt Mugabe in Zimbabwe, as Mandela and the current South African regime did and are still doing.

Probably the whole 25 years in jail for no crime to represent an oppressed majority thing.
