RECENT British rock bands: Placebo, Franz Ferdinand, Turin brakes, Chemical Brothers, Blur, Coldplay, Oasis, the Cranberries, Muse, Bayshambles, there are tons of them...

From what era though? A few off the top of my head: The Charlatans, Joy Division, New Order, Sleeper, The Stone Roses, Radiohead, Placebo, The Bluetones, Elastica, Blur, Suede, Oasis. They're mostly from the 90's era though... Britpop and the "baggy" Madchester scene.

Recent bands - AC/DC, the Arctic monkeys, Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Hundred Reasons, Coldplay (though I hate them lol), Basement Jaxx, Chemical Brothers, Blur, Oasis, Radiohead, The Libertines, the list is endless. Enjoy.

I know of quiet a few, however, my favorites have to be Bush & The Beatles.
BTW, AC/DC is from Australia, not England, LOL & Franz Ferdinand is from Scottland.
