I feel the polls can be saying what the American public wants and Bush does not care what we want.

He never has shown any inclination that he does care about the polls, he's always been consistent. Unlike most other politicians who change their mind every time the wind blows.

No he does not pay attention to most polls because most have little bearing on what the public really wants, many are done calling at specific times in specific areas of the country and are designed to be bias in thier wording and content to how they are done.

Take issues like the war, in general yes the majority of the population supports the war, they hate to see troops killed, they hate that some people get hurt in the fighting, But they do support the war and the reasons for it. but you could not tell that from the polls normally.

Take immigration, the majority of the public want a wall and they want the illegals to be sent back, sadly the President and both parties don't care what the public wants, they prefer to do what the big business wants, allowing low wage workers to continue.

But he really does what he believes is best for the nation,
He may not always be right, but he does what he beleives should be done

Of course Bush cares about polls. He finally started to come clean on the Iraq War late last year in direct contradiction to Karl Rove's plan of insisting nothing was wrong when he dropped to 35% in the polls. He put troops on the border this year because the illegal immigration debate got too big for him to ignore (it's all for show). Early last year he never acknowledged that the public hated his plan for SS privatization, but he quietly dropped it. And this whole bring-up-gay-marriage-every-two-years ploy is a pandering move to get religious wackos out to the polling places.

I could go on for a good long time.

I do not believe that he doesn't pay attention to the polls it goes against human nature! I believe he cares what the American public wants if it fits in with his agenda!

Think about it:

What events in world history happened that were popular?
Not even world history... look at the business you work for... management decisions that have a positive effect on the company as a whole but aren't popular amongst the workforce.

I'm not saying that his decisions are perfect, but I am saying that if he really thinks he is following the right path towards better change for the future, he already knows that both him and his decisions will not be popular.

Isn't that obvious? A president who bases ALL his decisions based on polls may do well politically, but the country isn't going to be any better off. Sometimes a President has to be a leader and not a follower. John Kerry changes his positions based on polls and look at what a joke he is.

I think that Bush should be more concerned about national security, the war, immigration, and the starting of nuclear weapons for 3rd world countries than he should be about the politics of a poll.

In other words, he is doing fine in my opinion.

Your government, on the basis of outrageous lies, is waging a murderous and utterly illegitimate war in Iraq, with other countries in their sights.

Your government is openly torturing people, and justifying it.

Your government puts people in jail on the merest suspicion, refusing them lawyers, and either holding them indefinitely or deporting them in the dead of night.

Your government is moving each day closer to a theocracy, where a narrow and hateful brand of Christian fundamentalism will rule.

Your government suppresses the science that doesn't fit its religious, political and economic agenda, forcing present and future generations to pay a terrible price.

Your government is moving to deny women here, and all over the world, the right to birth control and abortion.

Your government enforces a culture of greed, bigotry, intolerance and ignorance.

People look at all this and think of Hitler - and they are right to do so. The Bush regime is setting out to radically remake society very quickly, in a fascist way, and for generations to come. We must act now; the future is in the balance.

Millions and millions are deeply disturbed and outraged by this. They recognize the need for a vehicle to express this outrage, yet they cannot find it; politics as usual cannot meet the enormity of the challenge, and people sense this.

There is not going to be some magical "pendulum swing." People who steal elections and believe they're on a "mission from God" will not go without a fight.

There is not going to be some savior from the Democratic Party. This whole idea of putting our hopes and energies into "leaders" who tell us to seek common ground with fascists and religious fanatics is proving every day to be a disaster, and actually serves to demobilize people.

But silence and paralysis are NOT acceptable. That which you will not resist and mobilize to stop, you will learn - or be forced - to accept. There is no escaping it: the whole disastrous course of this Bush regime must be STOPPED. And we must take the responsibility to do it.

And there is a way. We are talking about something on a scale that can really make a huge change in this country and in the world. We need more than fighting Bush's outrages one at a time, constantly losing ground to the whole onslaught. We must, and can, aim to create a political situation where the Bush regime's program is repudiated, where Bush himself is driven from office, and where the whole direction he has been taking society is reversed. We, in our millions, must and can take responsibility to change the course of history.

Acting in this way, we join with and give support and heart to people all over the globe who so urgently need and want this regime to be stopped.

This will not be easy. If we speak the truth, they will try to silence us. If we act, they will try to stop us. But we speak for the majority, here and around the world, and as we get this going we are going to reach out to the people who have been so badly fooled by Bush and we are NOT going to stop.

The point is this: history is full of examples where people who had right on their side fought against tremendous odds and were victorious. And it is also full of examples of people passively hoping to wait it out, only to get swallowed up by a horror beyond what they ever imagined. The future is unwritten. WHICH ONE WE GET IS UP TO US.

The World Can't Wait! Drive Out the Bush Regime!

Bull. Polls can and are skewed to represent what ever the pollsters want them to say. Also I don't answer polls so they aren't representing what I want are they. Why should he pay attention to the polls. He has the job. He is not going to be re-elected. I wouldn't pay any attention to them either. Quit whining.

It's pretty obvious from his conduct that he does not pay attention to any polls.

For example, a week or two ago, with his popularity at an all time low, he had the gall to suggest that Jeb would make a good president.
