holes bored into a maple tree and de barking?

30 year old tree just wondering if it's diseased

check for fruit bees. i had a problem where they bored holes into my tree and started to kill it. i got rid of the bees ( big black scary suckers, that didnt bite) and the problem went away

The holes are from tapping it in the spring time for sap for syrup.
