Skype is an IM service like Yahoo Messenger & MSN. Skype is a good way to keep in touch with people because they are using the VOIP technology. Hence, the voice calls there are very clear....... and it's free!
I think it is also secure.

I am an avid user of Skype since last year. So why dont you see for yourself? :-)
Good luck!

Skype is Internet telephony, is it secure, no (well with a few caveats)..
There are applications out there now that can actually re-assemble the packet stream used to construct your call b/w you and the end user. However that application has to be running either locally on your side of the call, or locally on the remote side of the call. People like the NSA/FBI however can have access to the intermediary layers of connectivity and do the same thing. There is not much on the Internet that is really secure, if someone wants your information, they will get it. But other then that, unless you've done something to attract attention then you should be okay.

Skype I have it.... Anyway it's like a phone on your computer it lets you talk to anyone from around the world. And it's cheap. You put in your contacts and cell phones numbers too and press dial... Viola.

yes, I reckon it is pretty secure.

I just downloaded it a few days ago and it was really cool. It lets you talk to people from your PC to theirs, through the microphone/headphone. If you have a web cam, they can also see you.

It is very easy to use, just install, test it and go! And best of all it is totally free!!

you can get it from www.skype.com

enjoy!
