Clearcoat from a car wash only lasts for a few weeks.

Klearkote, the gel sprayed on to protect your under-carriage from rust and other deterioration, lasts about a year. I know this because my very first job was at Ziebart Tidy Car where I had to use Klearkote on many occasions. Often, people would bring their vehicles in and the gel would still be intact, even after more than a year since it was applied. When they put new Klearkote on, the old stuff has already been washed off.

It lasts for like, 0 days. It doesn't really work, all it does is clean your car a little. Its a gimic to get you to go to the car wash. Its so much cheaper and more fun to just do it at home by yourself!
