I do not think I'm the best writer in the world, but I do not feel I'm the worse writer that ever dared to use a keyboard.

Writing is not a waste of time if that's what you love to do. I, myself, am a writer as well and although it is difficult, the rewards far outweigh the struggles. It is not one of the easiest carreers to strive for but that does not make it a waste of time.

The reward for a writer is usually more the gratification that comes from writing something with your own words. There's not a lot of money in it unless you become a popular writer, but the feeling you get when you finish a book or a story or a poem is like nothing else. As you read over the words, your words, that came out of your mind, you can know you've really accompliished something.

Writing is also a great way to express feaalings that you couldn't tell anyone else. Like a journal or diary. If there is something going on in your life, you can disguise it as a story about a character going throught the some thing. Then no one has to know it's really about you.

I didn't mean to go on this long, but I hope it helps.

Don't let your sisters lack of confidence or jealousy put a damper on your hobby or aspirations. Some of the greatest Authors in the world had siblings like your sister. The most important thing is you enjoy what you do, it gives you an opportunity to explore your creative side and bare minimum it allows release of tension! I will look for your work on the New York Times Best Seller List! Look for my first book (due out in about 4 weeks,) Titled: MEMORIES, MYTHS, MATTERS OF FACT. Best of luck to you and keep on writing!

Ignore your sister. Many people have been told that it was a waste of time and went on to do really well. This minister that I know was told that way back when he was in high school and he now has 7 books on the market on more on the way. So if your dream is to write just do it and don't let anyone discourage you

Nobody can take your hobby away from you. Like my mother used tosay: it doesn't matter what you do, if you're just doing something....
I spend a lot of my spare time on the web, a lot of people thinks thats a waste of time, but not me...
Good luck with your writing!

Your sister may not express herself the way that you do. If writin makes you feel good inside then write. Don't let the opinion of someone control you. you are your own person and writing is very healthy. And I bet you are a very intellectual being.Keep doing what feels write for you and don't give up.

Do not listen to your sister.

Keep doing what you love, because its a hobby. You don't have to be the best at something to be able to do it.

Plus, your sister isn't the one "wasting" her time on all of the hard work you do, so why should she be saying thing slike that to you?

it's good, keep writing, take business classes, become a workplace hr manager, or write college books on management and business, you are a good writer, so take advanced writing courses, submit your writings to newpapers, online sites that let freelance people submit stuff, and let other people read your work and let you know what you need to work on, go for it!
