why do non Americans ask stupid questions...? not all of them of course...

There are stupid people in every country. I am SO sick of being stereotyped by other nations! "Americans are stupid." "Americans are arrogant." Well I am American and I am neither. I have an extremely high IQ and I am most of the time very humble. Except for that last sentence...ha. But anyways, maybe you should meet a wider variety of Americans before you make these silly assumptions.

Not all of them are stupid Claudia, just about 62 million of them out of 296 million. that's about 21%. There are a few million more that keep the chimp's rating up to 30%. I am guessing another 25 million or so. So a total of about 87 million.
I assure you there are at least 59 million intelligent Americans and probably more but some of them were too lazy to go vote in 2004. Does that make them stupid, perhaps a little bit. They should have dragged their asses to the voting booth. But their hearts are in the right place.

And which are not stupid?
Clarify if you would please.
Remember that not all of us are related to Bush so that means those not related are the smart ones. Am I right?????
And then there are those who really think it's cute to act stupid and give really stupid answers like the few that answered before me. My guess is that they are related to Bush or they wouldn't have given those answers that they gave.
Don't judge us all by what some Americans do or say because that puts you in the same boat as those you say are stupid.

Because we do not learn from our mistakes:
Why did Americans help stop Hitler - just stupid I guess.
Why do Americans oppose the spread of nuclear weapons - just stupid I guess.
Why do Americans give more food to starving people around the world than any other nation - just stupid I guess.
Why do Americans provide more money to stop AIDS/HIV than any other nation - just stupid I guess.
Why do Americans object to being attacked by terrorists in their own country - just stupid I guess.
The list could go on for pages but hopefully you get the point.

Im not into politics but got crammed into this one. If you were into politics. Is there a better word than stupid? And what does Stupid mean to you? And to be honest we have come to the Aid to all the countries out there that called upon us, is that stupid? Sometimes yes. However that just shows you WE CARE. Now if your not american and you call american people stupid. What are you doing wondering about OUR politics stick to yours.

American people are not stupid. The federal government has controlled what will and will not be taught in the public schools. They have spent the past 50 years dumbing down the schools. Because a few people want to control everything globally, and stupid slaves give them less trouble. After all did not Hitler in Germany murder most of the intelligent people who opposed him and his policies first. I believe that came after he confiscated all their weapons.

Our country needs to work on money and finance. That is why I go to work everyday. I pay my bills and I don't have a credit card balance each month. I would like to see the United States do that with any sort of Bush backers.

As someone who immigrated to the US, I can assure you Americans aren't any "stupider" than the rest of the world. True, there is a level of ignorance about world and current affairs among the educated class, but I wouldn't characterize it to low IQ.

Who discovered electricity and learned to produce it? An American.
Who invented alot of the things the rest of the world loves i.e. light bulb,television, telephone, computers, rock n roll,baseball just to name a few. Americans. So zip it.
