Each state can be different. If nothing is ordered by the court then you don't have to pay anything. You do have the responsibility though to take care of your child. Talk to your ex about what they spend and give them half of what it takes to care for the child. If it was ordered by the court, a lot of states can take up to 25% of your check.

i wanna say it goes on last year w-2, it goes by how much you make per year, if i had to guess, i would say that you would at least have to give $75.00 to$ 100.00 and thats becuase you have to support your child, here in New orleans men have to pay big time but hopefully you will pay what is ordered of you, just remeber that is your child and want it to live in the best possible place and has good food and snacks to eat, i know its hard when you have to pay child support but remeber the little things that matter to that child, good luck and stick with it even though its tough

it all depends on the state you live in and what the rules are

where I live (FL) they take into consideration both parents' income as well as how many days per year the child is with each parent - it also takes into consideration which parent pays for child care and the child's expenses

look online - you will find a lot of valuable information, good luck!

Check your state's website...you might be able to find out there. It depends on state. I know my husband pays out the a** for his son, but he makes decent money...I think it's about 20% of each paycheck goes to his son's mother. (which, I might add, doesn't get used on his son, but on her new car/home instead...lol)
