I read the book "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair a few years ago and since then I haven't eaten beef or pork.
Have you ever had a similar experience?

I was impressed by that book too but I can't quit eating beef or pork, now I just buy local when I cook at home, its more expensive and I eat less meat. Going out is harder, but its still possible to eat products that are made in a clean, sustainable and humane way (that goes for non meat products too). To answer your question though, 'The Stranger' by Albert Camus and 'To each his own' by leonardo Sciascia opened my eyes. Hard to explain how in a reasonable space but they both pose some interesting questions about life, death, the mafia, and the death penalty.

Yes. Conversational Power by James K. Van Fleet changed my life. It taught me how to get the reaction from people that i want by teaching me about human nature. If this book fell ino the wrong hands it would be dangerous. Imagine getting people to do whatever you want through the art of conversation.i went from being hella shy to confident.

Since I've started reading the Bible I don't get drunk every day or worry about how things are going to turn out or get depressed about all of the things that used to depress me.
