There is not a literal translation for 'soulmate' in mandarin or any other character language, however, if you go here http://www.chinalanguage.com/CCDICT/
individually, look up soul, and mate, you'll find the characters that mean those things. It will be a two character insignia.

personally i think you can only trust a good friend who is fluent in the language. Not a friend prone to bad jokes... because you could be walking around with "my best friends wife" for all you know...
