Ok she has a friend that stayed a week with us and went on vacation with us. Well yesterday my daughter left and her friend had to come back by the house to pick her stuff up. My daughter asked that when the friend came to get the stuff that I go up in her room with her. I said why? She said to make sure she doesn't take anything. OK....what does that lead you to believe about this girl? OPINION ?

I'm proving to her that I'm not the ony one who thinks she might be a thief. She tried to take back what she said and I told her she believed it or she wouldnt have said it.!!

Panacea: This was to show my daughter that I'm not the only one who would think her friend is a thief. I'm not clueless! Just showing her! Geesh wish people would read the whole thing before they call someone "clueless"

It means that your daughter has more common sense than you do.

The truth of the matter than you will meet many, many, MANY people who are completely untrustworthy but not know it because they seem normal.

Anyone who has ever had college roommates knows what I am talking about. You think they are a friend, then later on you discover they never paid the utilities, ran up your phone bill and stole your credit card before skipping town. You clean out their room and find stolen checks and a satanic bible among the belongings (actual experience of mine from college....lol). And you had no freaking idea.

Your daughter knows this about people and takes steps to protect herself and is probably closely scrutinizing people to ferret these people out and get rid of them from her social sphere. Good for her.

YOU on the other hand, are clueless and ripe for being taken advantage of.

that your daughter really dont trust her friend and that your daughter trust you(her mother) to keep an eye on her friend and her things for her.
so do this for your daughter it wont hurt anything.
tell her friend that you just want to make sure everything is ok in her room (while you are standing by the door).
I would do this for my daughter she is 16yr.
your daughter either has little trust in her friend or that she has caught her taking things from other friends, or that she has had things missing after her friend has come by and had been her room and noone else would have taken anything.
do this for her peace of mind.

It sounds like your daughter doesn't trust her,
and she's afraid she's going to steal something.
OR.....,it could be your daughter is hiding "something",
the girl knows where this "something" is and your daughter
knows that the girl won't get "It",if you're in the room. Make
sense?

Are you serious? You HEARD what your daughter said and you need someone else's opinion? Honey, let's put this in language anyone can understand... YOUR DAUGHTER KNOWS THE OTHER GIRL IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED! Simple... don't leave that girl alone in your home in any way.. trust your daughter, she KNOWS this girl. and next time, LISTEN to your daughter.

That she may be a thief and that she may have already taken something from your daughter for her to think that she may take something now i hope that makes sense.
