Help I think i have a Spyware or something like that...?

When i turn the computer on automaticly a window comews up and goes to a webswite the top of it says advertisment NSIS.... How do i scan my computer for adware and spyware what program is free that does that

Well what it sounds like is a browser hijack. Go on your internet explorer and go into tools then go into options. Then that will show you what is set as your default home page. Type in a standard webpage like www.google.com/ or www.yahoo.com/ apply setting close out of the internet explorer and see if it still redirects you to the other site. If so you have a browser hijack.

Now to remove it. Try hitting it with a virus scanner. I wouldnt suggest using a spyware remover since it sounds like its a browser hijack and they are really poor at removing dll.s and the files that are associated with the virus.

If the virus freezes when you scan it then down load a program called " hijack this" run it and it will tell you the process that are eunning that are connected with the hijack. Terminate and delete the process using hijack this.

Do not reformat your hard drive for you will loose all your information and the virus that you have is not a bad one, the person that told you to reformat is a complete idiot and probably has no real computer experience.

if you type an address in the bar and hit enter, what does it say in the address bar, if says what you typed it's not spyware/adware, if it changes to something else, it is. go to google and type in adware/spyware, there will be a free download somewhere, it does take off some of the garbage but usually not all. sorry but that's the best i can do.
