My husband had a Laminectomy performed on his lower back about 10 years ago. Not due to immediate trama but, more like years of abuse.(rode motocross for years- had a job requiring regular lifting of 50-100# - His job requires him to be on his feet all day now but,not as much/heavy lifting) Had pain afterward but, it was "tollerable". Day before yesterday, woke up with more pain. Yesterday pain became severe. Took muscle relaxer and went to bed. This morning pain worse. Took muscle relaxer & anti-imflamatory. Applying heating pad. Doesn't seem to be helping much. Does anyone have any home remedies that may help? Homeopathic remedies? Anything?
ANY SERIOUS SUGGESTIONS MOST APPRECIATED.

Get a comfortable bed. I started having back problems, mostly because once I graduated college and got a "real job", I become less active and sit at a computer desk for 9+ hours per day. I tried fixing my desk so I had better posture but nothing was really helping. We decided to invest in a Select Comfort bed, they are expensive but worth every penny! You can adjust them to what you need and some nights I want a soft bed and some nights I want the firm support. My husband can adjust his side to whatever he wants too. Swimming and yoga has also help (which I take at my local YMCA). Swimming strengthens muscles and yoga stretches them. Since then 99% of my back pain has gone away.

If your pain is from muscle spasms due to an injury, I found a product at Walgrens Drug Store which was wonderful. About $100.

make sure the mattress he sleeps on is a good and supportive one. ask him to sleep without a pillow. do not massage only apply a good pain releaving balm. again do not massage. it will only make it worse.
please take him to a doctor.
