He wants to scare people. He was probably scared horribly at some point as a child. He's protecting himself with all the ugliness. I think he's gay but doesn't want to admit it.

I think that he is a rip off in my humble opinion, he is only motivated by shock factor not art, but i must say it is hard to shock anyone especially me these days, marylin manson is a circus act to me.

I think he is the sickest puppy I have ever seen.
I also own a number of his albums and enjoy listening to them.
Mixed bag, obviously.

He is surprisingly intelligent during interviews. I just wish that when he would tell fans to 'be yourself' instead of what society wants you to be, they (and he) might realize that yourself does not mean to be him either.
