As long as both are clear about the purpose of the marriage, why not.
Because I'm quite certain we're not talking about puppy love here, right?

Do you have money? Do you have children? What will marrying change in your relationship? If you want to marry, if your estate is set up to go to the heirs that you want it to go to, if the 36 y.o. wants to marry you, I think marriage would work.

Many people don't put much thought into the decision, but deal with the consequences after they've done it. Most do well, but in your situation, you have a lot to consider.

Consider all the situations and provide for them to be the way you want them to be and then do what you want to do. Even if it is to just keep your relationship the same as it is!

Most 81 year olds don't know how to use a computer...so I doubt your question is anything but a stupid idea of some teenage boy....time to get off the computer!

As long as you're both happy, why not? Don't worry about stigmas or people being upset. The two of you are all that matters. But, be prepared to deal with the comments the rest of your lives.

Well it would be better than shacking up and when you are gone she will be entitled to all your worldly goods. I am sure you want her to be well taken care of after you are gone.
