Thats what mythology is all about, not down trodden facts but regional fables and inclination
every country has its own history book legents ,upon which the modern facets of society are constructed. The egyptians had there cursed mummification chambers( u wont want me to describe what happened there!) ,the scottish have lochness monster,Indians have dwarka and similarly holy grail in mythology of the meditteranean is atlantis!
Its true that ancient derelict infrastructures gave rise to modern skyscrapers, something which is referred as social metamorphisis. Several searches have reported the coinage, relics belonging to atlantis, these were excavated in depths of the meditteranean and black sea ! Geologically speaking,it would be possible since the meditteranean heritage of today did not simply fall from the sky, dormant olive seeds were also one of the findings, suggesting the 'olive diet'of modern meditteraneans has its roots in cultural concoction of atlantis! If you club all this together one part of yr brain says atlantis did exist, but the other says that fables dont have a basis on civilisation!
By the way, atlantis too ended with a carnage ,a war, something which even exists today, you will definately not call war a 'fable' would you?!

Once upon a time, there was a mythological city called Troy. Modern scholars did not believe in it's existence until the 1870s when an archaeologist named Heinrich Schliemann found it.

I'd bet this sentence will be finished like the one above sometime in the future. And what about Lemuria?

Atlantis was originally written of as an allegory by Plato, the philospher. He didn't mean it to be taken so seriously. He did base it on a real place, sort of, though. Or at least a real occurrance. The Island of Thera suffered such a fate, but before that occurred, Thera was said to be a beautiful place to live.

I really do think Atlantis exists. Look at all the stuff they have found in the Atlantic Ocean.

Well, everything I know comes from Plato's books Timeo and Kritias! Also, all knowledge for the last 2,400 years comes from those books!
Also, names of locations as well as myths and thrills are showing that Atlantis could be existing!

I do. I believe it was a pre-Noah's Flood city. Compare the legends about Atlantis with the Biblical facts concerning the Flood.

I believe it is possible that it will exist again. I have a friend, he's a contractor, and one of his friends who's also in the business claims to be making plans for underwater casino's and the-like.

There is even a myth about a UFO spaceship being seen diving into the ocean. Search teams were launched, nothing was found...

It probably existed and I really think it is the area where the meditating sea now is. That did not always used to be a sea but a plain. Also think the formation of the restraining sea may account for the great flood in the bible.

I think ATLANTIS did exist, but not as great as some stories have made it to be.
