Sometimes things on there are put down wrong. They messed up on my grandmothers date of death and mispelled my great grandfathers first name. I suggest looking it up in a variety of ways. Like put just his last name and state or just the first initial and last name. Try putting in just the birthdate or just the death date. If he is there you will find him . Sometimes it just takes a lot of work to find them. Also people at http://www.ancestry.com can help you find loved ones. They helped me find my family tree dating back to 1595 england and the census records and people I couldnt find on the death registry. Good luck.
