cotton is subjected to many chemical treatments one of them is antiseptic against fungi and bacteria , would like to know those materials used in this step and if petrochemichals can be used

Fungicides and pesticides are used. Although not part of petroleum, they are probably made in a series of steps from a petroleum base. Almost all synthesised organic compounds are made from petroleum feeds.

Pesticides are used. Petrochemicals will create an explosive mix with cotton.
