You can use a saline nasal spray standing up or sitting down

Standing up or sitting down, it doesn't matter...however, if you tilt your head slightly forward and breathe in through your nostrils while squeezing, you'll get a much more effective spray.

Follow the directions on the bottle and don't make it any more complicated than that. It's not rocket surgery. Just Squirt and Snort.

I would suggest sitting down with your head tilted slightly to the back.
