Be careful and watch out for the insurance. I was watching court tv a few weeks ago and a lady sent a $3000.00 Gucci watch Fedex through a retailer and it was stolen. She took the retailer to court because she purchase the extra insurance with was equal to the amount of the watch incase something happend to it. Fedex only gave her $100.00 After the watch was reported lost/stolen. She had to sue the retailer and she won. Just make sure who ever you use, the insurance you purchase WILL cover your purchase value. Ask the retailer and get it in writing.

Good Luck

I worked in shipping for 10 years and always had better luck with FedEx than any other carrier. Over the years, I literally shipped millions of dollars of E9-1-1 public safety equipment through FedEx with very few problems. However, you only get $100 of insurance with FedEx so I would buy some more. Also, while I always preferred FedEx, DHL is actually known as the most reliable international shipping company.

UPS is the better of the two in shipping sensitive material and computer equipment. Our company has used them both and now only use UPS because of problems with FedEx.

I would go for UPS, remember, what really matters is your notebook, the price is not important if you want it safe...
