I think people think it really cool to be a gangster, gangsta, G, etc. I grew up in a bad aread of Toronto, CA, and have seen and been a part of some sad, terrible, dangerous, and illegal acts. Popular culture, to which I try to avoid as much as I can, due to the shallowness and superficial outlook on life and other people, propagates what people feel they need to be and act like. How many time have you seen someone who behaves like somehting ther really aren't? It could also be something that people feel they identify with, but in order to identify with somehting do you not first need to share similar experiences, or to have some connection on another level? How does someone who grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth identify or represent the hood, segregation, and the prejudices that coloured people(and ethnic minorities) have and are fighting now?
It's strange most people who want to be ganastas grew up in th eburbs in stable homes without suffering or toiling for much, and those who live it are trying to leave it. I never met someone who was from the hood and wanted to go back to it. Everyone is trying to get out, and some who have so much want in.
It doesn't make sense to me, and I need to observe the human condition more. We are a strange species.

really insecure people with not much to live for......theyre not sure what "manhood" is and havent ever seen it.. usually raised by single moms........unmarried parents etc etc, really sad, I agree with above... they are often very FEMININE men..... wanting women to care from them (again raised by women)........ they do not provide, they take. very feminine.
