Help me!!! Last night in a fight of anger my (ex) boyfriend threw open my bedroom door twice and the doorknob made a HUGE hole in my wall!!! There is plaster laying everywhere and I need to know the best way I can fix it!!! And, I do want it to look nice, not like a quick ghetto job or anything!!! Any suggestions for me???

They have kits to fix this very problem at your local hardware store. Usually it's a wire mesh with some plaster. You place the mesh over the hole and plaster it on, then just sand and paint over it.

Holes larger than 2 inches
With large holes, I recommend cutting out an area such that a new small piece of sheetrock can be applied to the 2”x4” studs. For example, I would consider putting in a new 16”x16” piece of sheetrock for a hole that is greater than 2” in diameter and less than 16” in diameter.
The best method to remove the piece of damage sheetrock is to use a Carpenters knife (razor blade) and score the area where you want to cut out. Repeatedly apply the knife until you have worked your way through the sheetrock. When complete, you should have about ½” to ¾” of the 2”x4” stud showing on each of the two exposed studs.
Note: Care should be taken to ensure no wires are cut behind the sheetrock when cutting out the damaged piece.
Next, cut a piece of new sheetrock to the size of the hole, and secure with sheetrock screws or ringed sheetrock nails.
Finally, tape the cracks with the mesh tape material mentioned above. Then as described earlier, apply three skim coats of Joint Compound, with each successive coat getting flared out further. Make sure you wait for the Joint Compound to dry before applying the next coat. Perform a final light sand after the final coat has been applied and has had time to dry, and then paint.

Oh, dear. Well, it will depend on the size of the hole. Is it doorknob size? Easy. Bigger? Ut-oh. If it's doorknob, stuff some newspaper in and fill the hole with spackle....ur...drywall mud. It might take a couple days to get it right. It has to dry completely. Then sand with fine paper. Paint. If it's any bigger, you will have to cut the hole even and patch it with a piece of drywall. Tricky. Or....you could call a drywall hanger.

you have to use a plaster product call fix-all it comes in a box. I've fixed door knob holes to holes from the towel rack from the screws. It works well but you have to use fine sand paper to even it out when it dries then paint over it

Try going to home depot and get the door knob guard cover. It may look like a protection, but it is also used to cover up the hole in the wall. The job does both. It guards your wall and covers up the hole.

You are going to have to go to a hardware store and get a patch (its a netting type that fits inside the hole), it comes with a joint compound that you apply over it. It takes a while for it to dry, then you sand it down evenly and smoothly with your wall. Touch up with paint.

Most hardware stores have drywall patch kits for the kind of damage your talking about. Just follow the directions, or get a NEW BF who is handy with tools and repair.

sheet rock and plaster cut out a sqare were the hole is and put a new piece in and plaster it up
