I think both marriage and divorce should be equally harder. I don't think you should be able to get a drive-thru marriage (Thanks Vegas!). Marriage is a big commitment and not something you should just jump into, which a lot of people do.

On the other side, I think you should definitely be able to get a divorce easily enough if it is merited. The last thing you want is somebody stuck in an abusive marriage or other bad situation. However, I believe people should be mandated to see a marriage and family therapist at least once to discuss the reasons behind the divorce. Maybe they don't really need a divorce, but just need to learn to communicate better.

The world has become addicted to instant gratification, be it TV, Internet/Email, Cell Phones, etc. They just get married on a whim and the second they're unhappy, they get a divorce. I guess marriages aren't what they used to be.

I think it is the decision to get divorced that ends the relationship, not the judge's sign off. I mean it is not up to the government to make you stay married, it is up to you to keep your committment, right?

So no, I think it should not be more difficult. It should probably be easier. In fact, if they knew they could be divorced in a month if they screwed up, maybe they would try harder to do what's right - though f they could be divorced in a month, it would be easier to leave your spouse for another though.

Now that I think about it, It is probably just right.

That all depends on the situation. I feel that if the people are just being selfish and are just unhappy that yes divorce should be more difficult but in the case of abuse or adultery then no. It comes down to what the reasons are for.

SHOULD it be difficult getting one? Well depends what you mean. On the emotional part it can be simply because of how two people act on the emotional level. It can either be rough or smooth. Divorces are expensive but things are better when they go smoother.Depends on the chemistry and emotion of the two people. I say they should have given more thought before getting married and make sure

Actually, I think it should be more difficult, much more difficult to get married, two drunk people getting married is an insult to God, love, law, and everything being taught that should be respected.

Isn't it difficult enough. If two people are at their wits end enough to go through the drama, bull and lawyers, then they need to be apart.
