Being barefoot all summer. Catching fireflies. Playing "Mother May I?" Splashing in mud puddles. Drinking Kool-Aid. Sleeping out in a tent, eating Oreas and then running inside when you got scared by a noise. Letting your toasted marshmallow catch on fire on purpose. Watching Tom and Jerry after school. Playing jacks and jumping rope. Playing Barbies and being able to really believe that an empty shoe box was her car.
Thanks for the question and the trip down memory lane!

My purity. I was sexually molested at the age of 6 as best I remember and it threw me into a downward spiral of drug and alcohol abuse that exists to this very day, in part regarding beer consumption. I am 44 years old and I lost my entire childhood to a sick, twisted pervert. I miss my purity.

The absolute certainty that my life is my own to do with it what I will. As a single working mother of two teenagers (I work in the health care field) I feel like my whole life is spent serving others. I miss that freedom of pure selfishness and it being OK to be that selfish.

My love for a gf from years back. I loved her so much that when she left me it took a long time for me to get over her. I didn't want to give up believing that one day we'd be together again and I spent years missing her. Finally enough pain went by and I feel little for her now.

Grandpa bringing over bagels every Sunday morning while Grandma cooked chocolate pudding, walking to school and sometimes taking a detour to my aunt's house so I didn't have to go to school, playing outside with my friends for hours at a time without being afraid,
and of course MY BARBIES!!

The lack of responsibility. No bills to pay or clocks to punch...I also miss my Shetland pony Rusty. I could be out riding and go to sleep on him and end up waking up in my backyard, ahhh....the good 'ole days!

That you could just walk up to someone and start playing with them and all of a sudden, you're best friends, and that there were no "popular groups" like there are in my school now.
