i've heard that cruises are always very crowded and kinda not very enjoyable.
do you agree?
and are they good for the whole family?

oh and please say if you prefer one over the other. like for ex. carnival over royal carribean.

Cruises are good vacations if you like:
Food
Not packing and unpacking for every place you visit
Food
Being on the ocean in a boat that rocks
Food
Entertainment that is entertaining, but sometimes cheezy
Food
Spending (more) money on excursions in the port
Food
Gambling
Food
And being with a lot of people.
It is a good alternative to the beach because there is water, but not much sand. You can go snorkle, swim with dolphins, get your hair braided and many other things. BUT a lot of things cost more money and the really popular excursions like the Dolphin swim fill up quick and cost you more. Drinks will cost you too.
And did I mention that they usually have three meals and a buffet going somewhere at all times?

Cruises can be nice because there are many activities and locations. They also have things to do for all ages and have programs for children most of the time. The one thing that is important to know is if you or anyone in your family gets motion sick. You might want to try a short cruise first or a cruise to a location. It would be awful for someone to be stuck on a ship with no relief from that feeling.

I am a travel agent and I think cruises are a wonderful option. Yes, they are great for the whole family. Whether you will feel crowded depends on a lot of things. Have a reputable travel agent check for you - it will not cost anything extra to do this and you will have someone knowledgeable helping you. I LOVE Royal Caribbean and they have a wonderful children's program. Royal Caribbean's Voyager Class ships are my favorite, especially the Mariner of the Seas. I have been on the new Freedom of the Seas, and she is wonderful, even considering her size.

If you go on family cruises it can be a little hectic because of children's activities. I went on one in the caribbean for 2 weeks which was quite enjoyable because it was geared towards adults in their 40's and 50's.

I think it's a great idea. I, for one, have never been on one. But I've always wanted the experience :)

yes! They are so fun! u get to stop and visit exotic places too! you should go on one!
