You are probably going to want to take a bus. There are several bus services that may help out. P&B bus lines (Plymouth & Brockton) run from South Station/Logan Airport to Hyannis. I believe that there is a ferry to Nantucket in Hyannis.
I can't say for sure about a ferry from Boston to Nantucket. I do know that there is NO train that runs to Nantucket or the Cape for that matter.

Yep. The two girls above me are absolutely correct. I just came back from Nantucket this weekend. You take the Plymouth-Brockton Bus from SouthStation to Hyannis Transportation Center. From there you can walk or take the shuttle bus to Hyline Cruise where you take the Ferry to Nantucket. The websites the 1st girl gave you will provide the time and schedule.
But honestly, if I will do it again.. I will rather drive to Hyannis Transportation center than take the bus. Why? Because the bus schedule and ferry schedule don't coordiante. I find myself waiting at the bus station and ferry dock for up to 2 hours. And I had to take the 6 o' clock ferry to catch the 8:30pm bus cause that was the last bus back to Boston. I wanted to stay longer.
But trust me... Nantucket was awesome. I loved it sooooo much. You will have a fantastic time.

Yes there is ferry service, but it's from Hyannis on Cape Cod, so you'd need to get from Boston itself or airport to Hyannis (by Plymouth and Brockton bus service since you don't have car) and then take one of several Ferry services from there.
To see how to get to Hyannis, try Hyannis Chamber of Commerce site, www.hyannis.com. To find out about ferry service, try Nantucket web site, www.allnantucket.com/nicferry.com
