P.S. is for post script. Many times people often forget to add vital information when communicating by writing. So at the very end of the letter they add the information by using P.S. Example

PS means Post Script. You will find this at the end of a letter (mail) after the person has signed. They finish the letter and remember something they have forgot to say. PS oh that is on Thursday PPS next week PPS is Post Post script....

"Post Script." Post, as in "after" and script as in "writing." It signifies something you write after you have finished writing. It's an afterthought.
